SUBMISSIONS FAQ

SO WHAT'S THIS I HEAR ABOUT A FESTIVAL?

The 3rd annual Upper Left Fest will take place Thursday April 25 to Sunday April 27, 2024 in Seattle, Washington. We highlight comedians from the Pacific Northwest and beyond!

WILL I GET PAID?

YES - Every booked comedian will be paid for their performance(s). Payment will be a minimum of $25 per spot, with each performer appearing on two to three shows over the course of the fest. Electronic payment will be transferred within two weeks after the close of the festival.

WILL ACCOMMODATIONS BE PROVIDED?

One day we would love to provide accomodations for out-of-towners. For now, if you are visiting from out of town, we will do our best to connect you with locals that can host and set up a chat for all comedians who might want to split something. We will also provide discount links to hotels nearby, available pending hotel occupency.

EVERYONE LOVES FREE FOOD, WILL FOOD AND DRINK BE PROVIDED? 

We will have a Green Room that is open daily with lots of snacks and specialty treats. Parties will have yummy food and at least one daytime event will have lunch provided. We will also have discount codes for venues nearby. 

CAN I DO THE FESTIVAL MULTIPLE YEARS?

Yes - See submission link for Alumni on our Submissions page. We ask that if you have been in the festival for 2 years in a row, plan to sit out and give room for others on the fest. After a year off, feel free to submit again! 

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO SUBMIT?

Early Bird October 1 to November 15 - $20 

Last Chance November 15 to December 17 - $30 

December 17 Midnight - Submissions close 

WHAT ARE MY CHANCES OF GETTING INTO THE FEST?

Acceptance is contingent upon the total number of eligible submissions received.

WHEN WILL I FIND OUT IF I GOT IN?

Emails / Invitations to the fest will be sent out by January 15th 2024 (give or take a couple of days) 

We will aim to get back to everyone, no later than February 4th 

AS A COMEDIAN DO I GET FULL ACCESS TO ALL SHOWS?

Yes, you will get a full festival pass and have access to all shows, as long as there's space. Ticket holders get priority seating!

You will also be able to bring a plus one to all of your shows, pending available seating. 

WHAT ELSE DO I GET? 

We have a lof of fun events at the fest, daytime activities, at least one industry panel, opening closing night parties, open mics, and the aforementioned kickass green room with lots of snacks and NA beverages
